This video is meant to familiarize the rider with the location of information and components on a RANGER XP 1000.
This video looks at the:
- 0:24 Front of the vehicle (headlights, front grille, which can be removed to clean the front of the radiator, front bumper, winch, if equipped)
- 0:36 Vehicle hood can be removed by turning the two quarter-turn latches and sliding forward
- 0:41 Underside of the hood (pulse bar, PVT intake, engine intake, coolant overflow reservoir, radiator cap)
- 0:53 Front suspension (shock assembly, sway bar link, controls arms, ball joints, CV joints and axle, tie rod assembly)
- 1:13 Brake fluid reservoir can be viewed through the left front wheel well
- 1:18 Headlight adjustments can be found under both front fenders and in the wheel wells
- 1:22 Side of the vehicle, you will find the cab nets
- 1:27 Driver’s seat, the seat can be adjusted using the lever in the middle of the seat
- 1:32 Front of the driver seat (cupholders, headlight switch, spare auxiliary slots, lower storage, instrument cluster with mode and navigation, steering wheel and adjustment lever, ignition switch, shifter)
- 2:00 Center dash (storage trays, cup holders, AWD switch, mode selector, spare auxiliary slots, 12-volt socket, battery trickle charger, 2 USB outlets)
- 2:24 Passenger side of the dash (passenger grab handle, cupholder, upper storage compartment, glove box with a tool kit that includes a T40 TORX® wrench, T27 TORX® wrench, T25 TORX® wrench, clutch spreader tool, multi-function pliers, shock adjustment tool, 8mm socket and handle, spark plug wrench, tire pressure gauge)
- 2:43 Lower dash and foot area (lower storage tray, cupholders)
- 2:47 Bench seat to access (bucket holder, storage compartment, battery, fuse box, diagnostic plug)
- 3:00 Fuel cap is located on the driver’s side of the vehicle
- 3:07 Cargo box, which can be tilted to give access to the (spark plugs, oil fill cap, dipstick and oil filter which can be found behind the rear passenger seat, air filter, drive belt cover)
- 3:25 Rear suspension you’ll find (shock assembly, sway bar, sway bar link, control arms, CV joints and axle, tailgate can be lowered by releasing the rear cargo box latch)
- 3:45 Inside of the cargo box area (safety labels with load and tire pressure specifications, D-rings, cupholders)
- 3:55 Rear of the vehicle, is the hitch receiver
- 3:58 Grease point located on the prop shaft and two on the front and rear sway bars. Reference your Owner’s Manual for grease points on your vehicle.
- 4:07 VIN is stamped on the chassis in the driver’s rear wheel well above the clutch cover. Note: Always read all warning labels on your vehicle before riding. A detailed list can be found in your Owner’s Manual.
