4.3" PIDD FAQ

PIDD

The 4.3" Polaris Interactive Digital Display is not a touch screen. The five buttons on the bottom of the display are used to navigate through the display options. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.

Q: Where do I go to register my PIDD?
A: We no longer require our consumers to register their PIDDs.

Q: How do I update my PIDD?
A: Please make sure you are using an 8 GB or smaller USB drive in FAT32 format to update your PIDD. If you use anything larger, you will get an error when attempting to complete the update. Read Updating Software and Maps on the 4.3" PIDD for more information.

Q: I am trying to complete the update, but I am getting a USB error message on my PIDD. How do I fix this?
A: Please use an 8 GB or smaller USB drive in FAT32 format to update your PIDD. If you use anything larger, you will get an error message.

Q: How can I submit my club’s trail data for everyone to see?
A: All of our trail data is obtained from Trail Managers that partner with us and submit us their trail data. If you are interested in partnering with us to provide us updated information, please visit the RIDE COMMAND website, scroll to the bottom of the page, and select the CLUB/TRAIL MANAGER option. This will prompt you to fill out an online application.

Q: When will trail data be available for my location?
A: RIDE COMMAND only shows vetted and official trails. This means RIDE COMMAND relies on relationships with associations and clubs to build out our trail network of legal places to ride. We currently are working on building our relationships in  underrepresented areas and hope to have more trail coverage soon. At this time, we cannot provide a date on when trail coverage will be available for a specific area.

Q: My machine has been stolen and it has a PIDD installed, can this track my machine’s location?
A: Unfortunately, we are unable to track your machine's location if a PIDD is installed.

Q: Can I plan a ride on the RIDE COMMAND website and upload the planned route to my display?
A: Unfortunately, we no longer offer this feature. We do realize that this tool would be an asset to our users, and we are working on bringing this feature back in the future.
