To remove and install the Rear Lower A-Arm on your RZR Trail or Trail S, follow these steps:

1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, ensure the vehicle is in PARK and remove the key.

2. Loosen the lug nuts with a 19mm socket with breaker bar while the vehicle is on the ground, but do not remove them at this time.

3. Safely elevate the vehicle. Reference your Owner’s Manual for proper lifting techniques.

4. Once safely elevated, remove the lug nuts and set aside.

5. Remove the wheel and set aside.

6. Remove the lower shock fastener with a 15mm socket and wrench and discard the nut. Tip: The shock can be pivoted up and supported out of the way with a wire hanger, rope or retention strap to aid in A-arm removal.

7. Carefully drill out the brake line rivet on the A-arm.

8. Remove the lower bearing carrier fastener, washer and nut with an 18mm socket and wrench. Discard the nut. If you’re having trouble removing the fastener, remove the lower A-arm mounting fasteners first.

9. Remove the two lower A-arm fasteners and washers with a 15mm socket and wrench and discard the nuts.

10. Remove the A-arm from the vehicle.

11. Inspect the A-arm bushing and pivot tube for wear or damage and replace if necessary.

12. If reusing, thoroughly clean the arm and pivot tube with a shop rag.

13. If replacing, new bushings and pivot tubes will need to be installed.

14. Align the lower A-arm with the mounting holes on the frame.

15. Reinstall the front lower mounting fastener and washer from the rear of the vehicle and secure with a washer and a new nut.

16. Reinstall the rear lower mounting fastener from the rear of the vehicle and secure with a washer and new nut.

17. Align the A-arm with the lower bearing carrier and reinstall the retained fastener from the front of the vehicle and secure with a washer and new nut.

18. Route the brake line on top of the A-arm and secure the brake line clamps onto the A-arm using new rivets with a rivet gun.

19. Align the shock with the mounting holes on the lower shock mount and reinstall the retained fastener from the front of the vehicle and secure with a new nut. Before continuing, ensure any items used to secure the shock are removed from the wheel well.

20. Torque the lower A-arm mounting fasteners to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm) + one quarter turn.

21. Torque the bearing carrier fastener to 40 ft-lbs (54 Nm) + one half turn.

22. Torque the shock mount fastener to 42 ft-lbs (57 Nm).

23. Reinstall the wheel on the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts until fully seated.

24. Safely lower the vehicle until the tires begin to touch the ground. This will help keep the wheel in place when torquing.

25. Once lowered, torque the lug nuts to specification in a crisscross pattern: steel wheels to 60 ft-lbs (81 Nm) and aluminum wheels to 120 ft-lbs (163 Nm).

26. Finally, lower the vehicle completely.
