For information on tools, read the Tools and Fasteners Guide. Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when servicing your Polaris vehicle.
To clean or replace the air filter on your Pro XD Full-Size Diesel, follow these steps.
1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, make sure it is PARK and set the parking brake.
2. Locate the air filter on the left side of the vehicle.
3. Clean the area around the air box with a clean, dry cloth.
4. Release the two airbox cover latches and pull outward on the two tabs to remove the cover.
5. Inspect the airbox for oil or water deposits. Wipe away any deposits with a clean shop towel. Important: If the filter has been soaked with fuel or oil it must be replaced. DO NOT attempt to clean the air filter.
6. Twist and pull the air filter to remove from the airbox. Note: Air filter removal is not needed for inspection only.
7. Inspect the filter for excessive debris or damage and replace if necessary. A new filter is part number 7082087.
8. Clean the intake boot and air box thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
9. Ensure the air box cover is clean before reinstalling.
10. Reinstall the air filter, and ensure it is fully seated.
11. Reinstall the airbox cover, ensuring the hinge pins are properly seated when reassembling the airbox.
12. After this, securely clip the two airbox latches.
