2023+ RANGER XP Kinetic Storage

Storing RANGER XP Kinetic
Any time the vehicle will be parked for more than a few days, follow the recommended storage procedure. To store your vehicle, follow these steps:

1. Begin by inspecting your vehicle and making any necessary repairs.

2. Clean the vehicle using the procedure outlined in your Owner's Manual or read 2023+ RANGER XP Kinetic Cleaning.

3. Park the vehicle in a well-ventilated area, out of the sun, in a cool, dry place and (if storing for longer than 30 days) within reach of the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) charge cord. The recommended storage temperature range is 32°F (0°C) to 113°F (45°C).

4. Turn the key off and remove from the vehicle.

5. If equipped, DO NOT set the parking brake.

6. Verify that tire pressure is at specification, and inflate the tires if necessary.

7. Block the wheels to prevent rolling.

8. Inspect the demand drive (front gearcase) fluid, rear gearcase fluid and brake fluid, and add or change fluids as needed.

9. Cover the vehicle with a Polaris cover. Note: Do not use plastic or coated materials, as they do not allow enough ventilation to prevent condensation and may promote corrosion and oxidation.

10. If storing for more than 30 days, keep your vehicle connected to an EVSE charge cord. This will maintain the optimal State of Charge (SOC) and health of the high voltage battery pack(s). The vehicle’s SOC will float between 90 percent and 100 percent: This is normal vehicle behavior.

If you cannot keep your vehicle connected to an EVSE charge cord during storage, charge the battery to 100 percent and check the SOC monthly. If the SOC falls below 30 percent, charge the vehicle back to 100 percent.

If equipped, your RANGER XP Kinetic’s SOC can be monitored remotely using the Vehicle Health feature on the Polaris App with an active RIDE COMMAND+ subscription. For more information, read RIDE COMMAND+ for Off-Road Vehicles

Note: Allowing the battery SOC to fall below zero percent can lead to a non-recoverable battery state.

11. Inspect the vehicle interior periodically to remove accumulated pest or rodent debris, such as nests. Check vehicle wiring for damage caused by chewing.

Removing RANGER XP Kinetic from Storage
To remove your vehicle from storage, follow these steps:

1. Begin by removing your Polaris cover, if installed.

2. If your vehicle was in long-term storage (30 days or more) without being continuously connected to an EVSE charge cord, charge the vehicle for 24 hours before initial use. This will allow enough time for optimal battery cell balance to be restored.

3. Verify that tire pressure is at specification, and inflate the tires if necessary.

4. Perform the Pre-Ride inspection as described in your Owner's Manual or 2023+ RANGER XP Kinetic Pre-Ride Inspection.

5. Inspect and verify the tightness of the bolts, nuts and other fasteners. Lubricate the vehicle and change the fluids at the intervals outlined in periodic maintenance chart in the Owner's Manual.

6. Inspect the vehicle for rodent damage or nests in flat spaces between components.
