2024+ RZR XP Windshield Wiper Kit Installation

This video goes over how to install the Windshield Wiper Kit (part number 2884579). For more information, read the instructions for this kit by searching the Polaris Accessory Installation Instruction Site.

For information on tools, read the Tools and Fasteners Guide. Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when installing accessories on your Polaris RZR.

To install the windshield wiper kit on your RZR XP, follow these steps:

1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface, ensure the vehicle is in PARK and remove the key.

2. Remove the two hood fasteners, then move the hood rearward to remove. Note: Vehicle equipped with T40 TORX® screws from factory.

3. Remove windshield, if equipped. Refer to your windshield instructions for removal.

4. Slide a pry tool under the front pocket fender.

5. Gently lift the pry tool upward to free the driver’s side front pocket fender from their clips. Remove and set aside. Repeat steps on the passenger side.

6. Remove the four outer hood fasteners with a T40 TORX® socket and set aside, remove hood from the vehicle and set aside.

7. Remove the center dashboards two fasteners with a T40 TORX® socket and set aside. Pull the panel rearward to remove.

8. To install the wiring harness, begin by placing the wiring harness on the vehicle dash.

9. Route the four bullet connectors of the main harness through the firewall grommet.

10. Route washer pump connector through the firewall grommet. Leave the windshield switch, fuse and relays for later connection.

11. Place switch connector near the switch plate.

12. Remove and discard a blank switch plate from the dashboard with a flathead screwdriver.

13. Slide connector through the dashboard and align to switch and connect the switch to harness connector and snap into place in the dashboard. 

14. Install fuse relays to electrical mounting panel. Remove cap from Polaris Pulse bar and install power connector.

15. Insert ROPS wiper harness into circular opening in passenger-side ROPS frame and slide it down the frame towards the opening at the bottom. Pull ROPS wiper harness from bottom of passenger-side ROPS frame and align connectors with main wiper harness connectors.

16. Secure wiring harness to ROPS with cable ties.

17. Connect ROPS wiper harness to main wiper harness. Tip: Match male and female wire colors.

18. To install the washer bottle, attach two speed nuts to the two mounting brackets. Then install the two brackets to the washer fluid bottle with four speed nuts and four screws with a 10mm socket, and torque to 27 in-lbs (3 Nm).

19. Install washer fluid hose to the bottom of the washer fluid pump. Then connect the main wiring harness to the washer fluid pump with the connector. 

20. Remove the two screws from the chassis with a 10mm socket and install washer bottle assembly to the chassis using two new screws. Torque to 10 ft-lbs (14 Nm).

21. Attach clip tie to mounting bracket, and route main wiring harness and fluid hose through the clip and cut with a side cutting tool.

22. To install the wiper assembly, use the windshield attach plate as a template and drill two holes through the plastic trim. Note: Holes in metal attach plate are not enlarged. Drill only through the plastic trim. 

23. Slide the following hardware onto the arm stopper shaft: pivot bushing, cupped washer and plastic washer. On the wiper arm shaft, slide the support spacer and rubber washer onto the arm. 

24. Install the wiper motor by sliding the wiper arm shaft and arm stopper shaft through the drilled holes and attach motor to windshield frame with the following hardware: On the wiper arm shaft attach a rubber washer, cupped washer and a nut using a 22mm socket. On the arm stopper shaft add a plastic washer, cupped washer and a hex nut using a 10mm socket. Torque both nuts to 27-35 in-lbs (3-4 Nm).

25. Put the wiper arm into the wiper blade and the put the screw cap on the arm stopper shaft. Tip: Position wiper on windshield just in front of arm stopper.

26. Lift wiper arm cap to reveal mounting bracket and install wiper arm onto wiper arm shaft with a washer and a nut using a 13mm socket. Torque to 14.8 -16.2 ft-lbs (20-22 Nm).

27. Install the center dashboard panel with two retained fasteners. Torque to 88 in-lbs (20 Nm).

28. To re-install outer hood, put the hood on the vehicle in the installed position and install outer hood fasteners with four retained fasteners. Torque fasteners to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

29. Place the front pocket fender around ROPS bar and into outer hood slot, and gently push tab into clips until front pocket fender is secure. Repeat process on other side. 

30. To re-install the windshield, lift the front of the roof and carefully tip windshield under roof and onto the ROPS frame. 

31. Attach the side clamps on both the left and right forward ROPS bars and use a rubber mallet to secure it in place. Once in place, tighten the locking screw inside clamps on both left and right forward ROPS bars. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

32. Lower roof into place and tighten bolts on the top of the windshield. Torque to 14.75 ft-lbs (20 Nm).

33. To connect wiper power, connect wiper motor to ROPS wiper harness connector and secure the ROPS wiper harness to the ROPS with cable ties.

34. Turn wiper on and check movement. Wiper should move across windshield in the clockwise direction. 

35. To prepare the hood for the wiper nozzle, measure five inches forward from the center of the rear edge and mark accordingly. Drill a 21/64-inch hole in position marked on hood. 

36. Place hood in position but do not install. Position nozzle through hole in hood and tighten nut until fully seated. Tip: The nut may need to be removed from nozzle prior to installation.

37. Connect the wiper hose to the wiper nozzle.

38. Fill reservoir to the line marked “Full.” Do not overfill. 

39. Move hood forward, into outer hood panel, and slide panel forward until tabs slide into front hood panel. Install two provided thumb screws.

40. Test the washer fluid spray. Adjust as necessary.
