2023+ ProStar S4 TITAN Adventure Spark Plug Inspection and Replacement

Spark plugs should be replaced every 2,000 miles (3,200 km). Vehicles subjected to severe use (constant high RPM use, prolonged low-speed or heavy load operation, extended idle, short trips) must be serviced at 50% of the stated interval.

To inspect and replace the spark plugs on your ProStar S4 TITAN Adventure, do the following:

1. Remove the side panels and hood.

2. Remove the upper plenum fasteners (1) and push rivets (2). Note: Image for reference only. Console configuration may vary slightly based on model.

3. Remove the push rivets (3) that fasten the front intake tube to the intake plenum.

4. Remove the breaker box fasteners.

5. Remove the intake plenum.

6. Clean the area around the ignition coils.

7. Remove the two fasteners (4) on each ignition coil (5).

8. Disconnect the connectors on the rear of the coils.

9. Carefully pull upward on both ignition coils to remove.

10. Remove both spark plugs.

11. Inspect the electrodes for wear and carbon buildup.

12. Inspect and adjust the spark plug gap if needed. The gap should be 0.030 inches (0.75 mm).

13. If necessary, replace with the recommended spark plug. The spark plug is NGK® 95897 MR7F, which is part number 3022662Note: Using non-recommended spark plugs can result in serious engine damage. Always use the spark plugs recommended for your snowmobile.

14. Install or reinstall both spark plugs. Torque to 8.8 ft-lbs (12 Nm). Note: Use pre-installation tool to prevent damage to the spark plug ground strap.

15. Install both ignition coils and carefully push the coils onto the spark plugs to make sure they are secure. Install the fasteners to secure the ignition coils, and torque to 70 in-lbs (8 Nm).

16. Connect the connectors to the rear of the coils.

17. Install the intake plenum.

18. Install the breather box fasteners. Torque to 62 in-lbs (7 Nm). 

19. Install the push rivets that fasten the front intake tube to the intake plenum.

20. Install the upper plenum fasteners and push rivets. Torque to 88 in-lbs (10 Nm).

21. Install the hood and side panels.
